Church website design checklist
It's been a while since I gave out any tech tips, so here's something to consider when working on a church's web site: A design checklist.
Obviously, it's written from a denominational perspective and it's not to be taken as gospel (so to speak), but there are some important points to consider if you want your website to drive people to learn more about the congregation.
Biblical spell check for MS Word
Ever wondered if you spelled "Dionysius the Areopagite" right in your Bible class handout? Check out the Bible Language Spell-Check Dictionaries. These are basically lists of Biblical names and places for Microsoft Word. You can find a link to instructions for installation there as well.
Best Father's Day gift ever
Okay, I didn't actually get this for Father's Day, but it would have been really, really cool. A USB drive embedded in a cuddly teddy bear. Of course, our older child would probably need therapy after seeing this:

The younger one would probably think it's cool and spend the rest of the day plugging and unplugging it.
Filthy lucre

Maybe if you took away that trailing zero and the "K"...
Net neutrality and why it matters
Okay, time to get caught up on my backlog.
If you want to find out about "net neutrality," the biggest threat to the future of the Internet in America, you should read this, then contact your elected representatives. And call your ISP and let them know they'll be losing you as a customer if they try this. :tsktsk
I'm not much of a "the-sky-is-falling" type, but allowing Internet providers to shake down content providers with threats of slowdowns (or worse, lobotomize comeptitors) is an extremely bad idea.
